Capital Planning

Building a Funding Blueprint for a need

Every capital need has its own Funding Blueprint, reachable from that need's detail page. It's the clearest way to see the honest funding picture for one specific need, rather than your whole department at once.

The four categories

Why it's broken out this way

A single "% funded" number hides the difference between money you actually have and money you're hoping for. Breaking it into these four categories is what makes a Funding Blueprint useful in a real board or council meeting -- it shows exactly where things stand, not just an optimistic total.

The remaining gap is never guaranteed to close through funding alone -- it's meant to give your department (and your leadership) an honest number to plan around, whether that means continuing to pursue funding, adjusting the timeline, or budgeting the difference directly.
